Te Wāhi Toi/The Arts Place exists to connect the creative community of Queenstown and Wānaka with audiences, students, teachers, spaces and each other. We are a not-for-profit organisation powered by Three Lakes Cultural Trust and inspired by local arts and culture.
In this creative session, participants will use colour, texture, and simple mark-making techniques to design a series of unique abstract greeting cards. Drawing on playful approaches to paint, pattern, and layering, we will transform small artworks into beautiful handmade cards that can be shared with friends and family.
About your facilitator: Emma Peers is an artist, illustrator and resident artist at Te Atamira. Through her practice, Emma holds emotion, memory, and stories that are often difficult to put into words. Working primarily with paint, Emma experiments with movement, her process is expressive and intuitive, allowing the paint to move, drip, and shift as she works, letting each layer reveal something new.
