A note from our conductor

A big thank you to everyone who joined us for our concert series back in May. Sharing music with our local communities is at the heart of what we do, and your support means so much to all of us.

As we prepare for ASCENT next weekend, I’m looking forward to sharing a programme full of contrasts – from the elegance of Mozart to the energy of Van Halen. A particular highlight for me is prize-winning New Zealand composer, Christopher Everest’s Twilight Over Tekapo, written especially for our orchestra. There’s something very special about bringing a new piece to life and sharing its first performances with you.

Our players have put so much time and care into preparing this music, and I’m proud of what we’re creating together. I hope you’ll join us in Wānaka or Cromwell – and perhaps bring along someone who hasn’t heard us before.

I look forward to seeing you there!
