Te Wāhi Toi/The Arts Place exists to connect the creative community of Queenstown and Wānaka with audiences, students, teachers, spaces and each other. We are a not-for-profit organisation powered by Three Lakes Cultural Trust and inspired by local arts and culture.
The Queenstown Electric Funk Orchestra.
Since 2017, these local groove agents will delight with their tasty servings of jazz, funk, disco and soul.
The QFO is mostly an instrumental six to ten piece ensemble, however colaboration with a feature vocalist is often on the cards.
Instrumentation includes bass, drums, guitar, keys (vintage Fender Rhodes piano and synth), soprano saxophone, tenor Saxophone, trumpet and percussion.
The set list includes QFO original compositions and covers from the likes of Herbie Hancock, Vulfpeck and The Average White Band, with an occasional cheesey TV theme thrown in.
